For example the kids menu had breakfast options on it yet the restaurant hours were limited so There was no breakfast option. Also the pool was closed yet all signage related to it in the rooms were still present At check in you receive a paper sheet. Perhaps having the most recent procedures on this sheet would be helpful. These are minor inconveniences but it would have been nice to know.
Not particularly impressive level of service. Add to the that the fact that the wait staff must wear masks, thus rendering them unintelligible, it was generally an unpleasant experience. This is our favorite local restaurant.

You go there for the excellent food! Going there tomorrow- March 25 with a friend. Located on the famous Alberni Highway in beautiful downtown Parksville, The Rod and Gun is THE place to be.

Sit outside on the new beautiful outdoor patio and sip on one of their fun and innovative patio cocktails. Cockney Pride might not be the jewel of our town, but I dont think they are aiming for jewels. They serve good quality, fresh home cooked, consistent fare, served by two lovely ladies, who know many of their clientele by name. A good reason being, locals are returning time and time again. We have fancier restaurants in town, with fancier prices and staff that do not know when a meal has been completed. ( I am referring to position of knife and fork.) We will continue our patronage.
Here you can sip on wine and dine on West Coast cuisine while sitting on a spectacular beachfront patio. For an intimate and globally-inspired dinner in Qualicum Beach, don’t miss out on Bistro 694, one of the Island’s most top-rated restaurants. This restaurant supports local food producers and offers a menu created from the recipes Chef Tony has collected from his travels around the world. The rooms were clean and had an excellent view!

Other BC hotels let you book times to use the pool during Covid. Our view of the roof and garbage bins not very pleasent. More coffee in room when staying 3 nights. The food in the restaurant was very good. One evening we sat out on the patio under the heaters it was a nice view and evening.
We were there for 8 days, and our room was getting rather dingy by the time we left. Also the front door is locked and you have to buzz staff to go in and out. I had a dog with me so had to take him out regularly.

No minors permitted at this time and you must be 19 years of age. Family dining will return in the Spring of 2021. Jonasson, it turns out, is a magician when it comes to fermentation and flavour. She is also one of a new generation of food-obsessed locals radically changing the food scene along what was once arguably B.C.’s sleepiest stretch of coastline.
The staff when I checked out was rude and abrasive. Pool was at 70 degrees which staff told us so it would be very cold if we would have swam in it. The hotel advertised an outdoor pool which was the primary reason we booked. The pool in inside with a slatted open roof, this does not make it an outside pool. There was no where to relax and sunbathe. The only down side was when two staff were getting off the elevator, saw that my husband used a walker but didn't bother to hold the door open.
